8 Ways to Bring Your Favorite Hotel Home

On our list: velvet loafers from The Mark hotel in New York City.

As you know, the Woodlake Travel team loves all things travel. Whether it's exploration or relaxation, business or pleasure, we eat, sleep and breathe travel! One of the things we miss particularly is our favorite hotels and accommodations. Here are 8 ways you can bring some of that luxury home!

Social-distance shopping with a dash of wanderlust.

Hotel stays are on hold for the moment, so we’re wandering the world via creative collaborations, boutique pop-ups, and VIP amenities from some of our favorite properties. Below, eight products to spruce up your shelter-in-place situation and satisfy that craving for far-flung destinations.

A High Society Scent In the early days of the St. Regis New York, Caroline Astor hosted a sumptuous ball with 400 guests. The brand’s commemorative Caroline’s Four Hundred room fragrance has light notes of American Beauty rose (her favorite flower), white lily, and quince. $85.

Splurge-Worthy Wallpaper

To support the staff of the Tower Bar Restaurant, L.A.’s iconic Sunset Tower Hotel is selling digital prints of artist Donald Robertson’s bespoke – and much Instagrammed – gold metallic wallpaper with illustrations of Rolls-Royces, martinis, and palm trees. BYO silk dressing gown. From $1,000 (printed wallpaper can be produced at an additional cost).

Cosmopolitan Slippers Slippers are the only shoes we need right now. These quilted velvet loafers are normally found padding around New York City insider favorite, The Mark. (They pair well with a good book.) From $25.

Antioxidant-Rich Tea Swap your morning English breakfast with a cup of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts’ 1907 Orange Pekoe - Lot 35 (“orange pekoe” is a tea term indicating top quality). This black tea’s leaves are sourced from Kenya and high-altitude farms in Sri Lanka, and pack a full-bodied kick for your self-quarantine routine. $15.

Cool Suits Brazilian beachwear brand Frescobol Carioca headed east to collaborate with Aman hotels in Indonesia. The result: designer swim trunks with Bali-inspired patterns that celebrate local prints and textiles. (Our favorites rep the Amandari, Amanjiwo, and Amankila properties.) From $180.

Handmade Whiskey Tumblers Texas artists Jennifer Ling Datchnuck and Ryan Takaba collaborated with Hotel Emma in San Antonio to make playful ceramic cups that add a bang to your next virtual happy hour. $95.

An Animal-Friendly Accessory   Travel-centric designer Figue collaborated with safari lodge (and tour) operator andBeyond to make canvas clutches that support the non-profit Rhinos Without Bordersprogram. Thirty percent of proceeds go to rhino relocation efforts, which move the endangered species to safe low-poaching regions of Botswana. $95.

Extra-Comfy Bath Towels Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts’ six-piece cotton-terry bath set makes sheltering in place a lot more … plush. (And check out the hotel brand’s bathrobe line, which includes an adorable child-size hooded kimono.) $199.
