Annually, I like to spend most of September in the United Kingdom. Our latest trip includes the Ritz in London and continuing on to enjoy other Virtuoso properties in Devon and Cornwall. The trip ends on a very high note with several days at Chewton Glen, one of the premier country house hotels in England. It is located on the southern coast east of Bournemouth and is also a Virtuoso property.
Africa is the very best travel experience! We enjoyed visiting Botswana on an Abercrombie & Kent safari. Our first two Sanctuary camps, Stanley’s and Chief’s, are both permanent tented camps. The animal watching was suburb and so unique since many of the animals adapt themselves to the Okavango Delta flood waters that come into Botswana from Angola. Next it was on to Chobe Chilwero, a Sanctuary lodge near Chobe National Park and the Chobe River. This offered the best bird watching that I ever have seen with an incredible variety of species. This trip ended at Victoria Falls with our staying on the Zambia side at the Royal Livingston Hotel.

I have enjoyed exploring the world and recently visited my 107th country, Jordan. Petra is amazing. I also recently explored the fascinating backroads of Spain and Portugal.
Since I love adventure travel, I really enjoyed my recent visit to the Canadian rainforest. I went “glamping” at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, where one stays in luxurious tents with 5 star service. It reminded me of my many trips to Africa, my favorite continent, and the marvelous safaris I have taken.

Recent Trips
Argentina and Brazil - this trip began in Buenos Aires where I toured the oldest part of the city called San Telmo, dotted with many historical buildings and churches. We also visited the colorful, quaint quarter of La Boca as well as the most sophisticated area, Recoleta with its many luxurious mansions and shops. We also took a day tour to the Estancia Santa Susana, a gaucho farm 70 km from Buenos Aires. The highlight of this portion of the trip was learning to tango at the famous Esquina Carlos Gardel.
A trip to Rio de Janeiro would not be complete without seeing Ipanema Beach, Sugar Loaf Mountain, the Rain Forest and Christ the Redeemer.
Italy – with Trafalgar Tours as my guide, I visited the most romantic cities in Italy – Rome, Venice and Florence. In Rome, I visited the Forum, Colosseum, St. Peters Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. I took a private launch on the Canal in Venice, visited St. Marks Square, the Bridge of Sighs and of course a Gondola ride. The Duomo, Signoria Square and the famous Baptistery were sights in Florence.

At the end of 2009, my family and I enjoyed a Christmas like no other as we set sail on the Disney Wonder. Both Disney World and the Disney Wonder were filled with the Yuletide spirit, from the beautiful decorations to the attentive crew members who tended to our every need. A stop-over at Disney's Castaway Cay was a wonderful opportunity for some beachside R&R. At the park, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights was an unbelievable experience that we will never forget. The incomparable Natalie Cole serenaded a capacity crowd at Universal Studios' Music Plaza with a wide selection of Natalie's many hits and holiday classics. Through the miracles of technology, Natalie joined her father for a rendition of their timeless classic; this was the crown jewel of a truly "Unforgettable" show.
On the Fourth of July weekend, I headed north, to beautiful Beaver Creek, Colorado and stayed at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa. There is no better place to get away from the summer heat than Colorado: the temperature never got above 65 degrees! We made the most of our short three night stay with an exciting slate of activities, including fly fishing, hiking, and white water rafting. For those who enjoy fishing, the fly fishing excursion is a must. Hiking or biking the numerous mountain trails around the hotel is a great opportunity to take in the stunning beauty of the Rocky Mountains. And the Level III white water rafting was a thrilling joy ride courtesy of the Arkansas River's speedy rapids. We capped off the weekend with Hyatt's fireworks show, a red, white and blue celebration that we enjoyed from the comfort of our room's balcony.

A recent trip to England found us at Virtuoso preferred properties – the Lucknam Park near Bath which is a grand country house with a Michelin star restaurant and a modern state of the art spa; then off to the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London – a great hotel in a great location.
Next, a cruise around the Black Sea on Silversea’s Silver Wind which is one of the top rated small luxury cruise lines today. After a pre-cruise stay at The Grande Bretagne in Athens, also a Virtuoso hotel, our cruise ended in Istanbul.
Most recently, after a stay at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, we boarded the Silversea’s Silver Whisper for a cruise to Hong Kong with stops in Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City among others.
